Welcome to our "Meet the Team" blog post series, where we introduce you to the amazing people behind our company! At Telerik Academy, our mission is to help people jumpstart or accelerate successful careers in the software industry, thus changing their lives and helping the sector grow. Our team is made up of passionate and dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to achieve this mission and make a positive impact in the IT industry.
So, who are the people that make up our team?
Meet Boyan Hadjiev, Soft Skills Lead at Telerik Academy and Viktor Dzhambov, our Marketing Manager. We asked them a few questions so you could get to know them better.
Here's what they shared.
Meet Boyan Hadjiev, Soft Skills Lead
Can you explain as simply as possible what you do at Telerik Academy?
I support people to give their best during the Alpha programs. Based on each student's individual experience, we bring out good practices and guidelines for dealing with challenges during the 6-month IT career start program and, after that, in the work environment.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Learning and developing constantly while communicating with people who have trusted us and joined the Alpha programs. I appreciate having the opportunity to help people discover their strengths and internalize good work practices.
What is the last book you read?
"The Culture Map" by Erin Meyer. She provides a field-tested model for decoding how cultural differences impact international business. My favourite part is how we should give feedback in different cultural settings. There are certain cultural factors that we must be aware of to achieve our goals.
Tell us one curious fact about you:
For over a decade, I have been teaching international relations and security studies. I have several dozen articles related to these topics. I love to travel, but the most important thing for me is my family and the time I spend with my kids.
Meet Viktor Dzhambov, Marketing Manager
Can you explain as simply as possible what you do at Telerik Academy?
I am doing my best to show the whole world why Telerik Academy is the ideal destination for those seeking to transform their lives and careers and to be more than spectators of the digital future but active participants. It’s incredible to be part of the team that builds the connections between people’s dreams and aspirations and the professionals, our trainers, who can help fulfil them.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Every day is different, bringing new challenges to overcome and things to learn. I might start the day by writing an inspiring success story about one of our students, then attend a few meetings to discuss marketing strategies, analyze results, and plan the next steps. I love working with my colleagues and seeing how we can come together to achieve a common goal. Seeing how much we can accomplish when we pool our skills and knowledge is incredible. My favourite part of the job is being in touch with so many different aspects of our work, interacting with many people and getting energized by their emotions. Oh, and also telling stories. I love telling stories.
What is the last book you read?
"The Creative Gene" by Hideo Kojima. Kojima is a game designer, director, writer, and creator of high-concept worlds and characters unlike anyone else. Frankly, I've played only two of his games (just a couple of hours each), but I admire his boldness in challenging the status quo. Kojima is a creator with a unique style, among the few in his profession that can be called "rock stars". The book is a collection of essays on personal impressions of movies, books, and stories. Kojima doesn't go into details about his creative process. You won't find shocking revelations about the game industry but rather the content he has loved. To quote him, "Stories allow you to experience places you could never go ", but I must add that stories allow you to become the person you dream to be. Stories help us dream. And aren't we all suckers for dreams? I know I am. :) But what I like the most is the idea that we are formed from so many elements. You never know where your inspiration might come from, so keep your mind open.
Tell us one curious fact about you:
Not so much a curious fact rather than a hobby, but I am a co-host of probably the best tech podcasts in Bulgaria,
Tranzistor. Also, I loved The Matrix Resurrections - I guess this can pass as a curious fact nowadays.
We're incredibly proud of our team and the work they do each day. Stay tuned for our next blog post from this series, where you'll get to know more colleagues from our team.
